Avvinue's Fall Interns Mark the Halfway Point
Avvinue recruited a team of four excited interns last Fall, joining the team remotely from all over the world. Now, as the weeks have progressed, the interns have reached their halfway point and have quickly settled into the everyday workings of Avvinue.
Learning new skills and meeting a new team with a mission to work towards their future careers, the interns have had an intense, but rewarding, first month. In a two month-long internship, each intern has his or her own role within their respective teams and are able to clearly see their individual impact on the startup. Here’s what the interns have to say about their experience so far:

Ester
Originally from Brazil, Ester moved to France at the start of her internship and is part of Avvinue’s public relations team. From press releases to social media and connecting with media reporters, Ester handles Avvinue’s marketing opportunities and contributes to Avvinue’s global voice.
‘“I have been working on different communication tasks throughout the internship, so it’s been really profitable for my career as a future journalist. Besides, it’s exciting to work in a startup environment, I have both contributed and learned,” says Ester.

Lara
Lara, from the UK, has been completing her internship while balancing her challenging final year at university. As a copywriting and editorial intern, Lara has been overseeing much of Avvinue’s website content, including blog posts and online resources. She additionally works on campaigns such as the monthly newsletter, creating a sense of community for Avvinue’s global audience.
“The Fall internship has been such a blessing during my term of online university this year, allowing me tasks to focus on outside of my degree and offering such relevant work experience in a time when this is really hard to come by. My favourite thing is the team’s positivity, which just makes it so enjoyable to work together throughout the week. We all believe in the startup so much; it’s really special,’ Lara states.

PrabhuKumar
Over in the partnerships team, PrabhuKumar has been connecting Avvinue to corporate companies, whose international employees can benefit from Avvinue’s relocation services. He’s been spending his time during the internship building relationships with partners and presenting the benefits of a relocation platform to possible users.
He states: “I plan to work on the key areas of opportunities that can enhance partnership engagement. I'll map out the necessary tactics to achieve operational goals in a timely manner and my experience with Avvinue is excellent!”

Faith
And last but not least, me! I work alongside Lara in the editorial team, meaning my tasks revolve around writing blog posts and website content for Avvinue. We’ve been working hard on creating a schedule for all the content we’ve yet to publish, and we’re making exciting progress on our latest project—the monthly newsletter.
So far, my time at Avvinue has been invaluable. I’ve been made to feel welcome by my incredible team, despite us all meeting over ZOOM, and we’ve all contributed an incredible amount of effort to our projects so far. I’m so eager to see what’s next for Avvinue and the team, and I love seeing our impact on Avvinue.
What’s Next?
While all the interns have their own projects, we ultimately work as a team on Avvinue’s campaigns, each one of us playing an important role. Our latest project, and one of our most exciting, is the pre-launch campaign for the moving abroad checklist app. The interns have all been working hard alongside our Founder & CEO Nicole Caba, designing, developing and promoting the app as a team.
The next month will no doubt be busy for the Avvinue interns, but no less rewarding. As we enter this new stage in our internship, I think I speak for the whole team when I say - bring it on!
